“You people thought day one releases…”: Xbox Game Pass Confirms Huge Change That Will Anger Every User
Xbox fans are once again criticizing Microsoft for its decision.
Changes are inevitable, and the more the world moves forward, the more renowned gaming platforms are going through restructuring to provide players with high-level experiences. However, Microsoft’s latest announcements prove it is leaving every other platform behind in revamping.
Recently, Microsoft announced that the long-circulated rumor about the Game Pass for consoles is finally going to be true. Xbox has restructured its subscription service, but unfortunately, this has caused a price increase. Naturally, fans are not ready to accept this, as it will become expensive once the newly organized Game Pass subscriptions launch.
Xbox Game Pass Getting a Price Increase, Along With the Introduction of a New Tier
Game Pass used to be one of the most popular Xbox features, where players could experience renowned titles on day one without purchasing them. However, there will soon be a change to this scenario. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will cost players $19.99 instead of $16.99 per month.
Furthermore, this restructuring program is removing the Game Pass Console tier and bringing the Xbox Game Pass Standard for $14.99, where players can’t access games on day one. Even the PC Game Pass is rising to $11.99 per month from $9.99. Most importantly, all these changes will be implemented for the new players on July 10, 2024.
Players who have already purchased the subscriptions and have been using Game Pass for a long time will get some more time. For them, these new rules will be applied on September 12, 2024. From now on, players are allowed to pre-pay for Xbox Game Pass for console for up to 13 months. However, users who have paid for more than 13 months won’t be affected.
Of course, this decision created a stir in the Xbox community, and players have started reacting against these announcements. Someone advised others to apologize to Sony after Microsoft’s decision.
Another player commented that they’re glad to switch back to PlayStation 5.
Fans even mocked Microsoft, saying that nothing except the profit margin has improved.
Most of them are not convinced to spend almost $15 and not get day-one games.
Aside from that, just a day back, Microsoft announced a more surprising update, taking Xbox gaming to a new height.
Xbox Has Announced Its Collaboration With Amazon to Take Gaming to a New Peak
Microsoft has recently declared its partnership with Amazon, which will bring a new way of Xbox gaming where players can play Xbox games without any console or PC. Microsoft is launching the Xbox TV app on selected Amazon Fire TV Stick models, like Fire TV 4K Max and Fire TV Stick 4K.
Simply put, if you have the Xbox App, you can stream your favorite games through Cloud Gaming. To begin this process, all you need to have is a controller of any kind, an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, and a stable internet connection. Players can use PlayStation controllers as well.
However, players are not convinced by this announcement either. Most of them are worried that this system will come to first-world countries, and they won’t get access initially. Others are anxious about several more issues, including child safety, as children frequently watch TV, and the quality of the internet connection required to stream the games.
None of these issues are vague, but currently, no one has the exact answers except for Microsoft. Therefore, while waiting for the new features to come, don’t forget to check out the new trouble Insomniac faced during the development process of Marvel’s Wolverine.
