“More Than Meets The Eye”: Overwatch 2 Teams up With Transformers in New Stunning Collaboration
The heroes are about to go in disguise.
Nearly a year after its launch, Overwatch 2 is still going strong in the live-service video game landscape, keeping things fresh and fun for its player base through fitting collaborations that make the title quite enjoyable. Bringing together fans of various franchises, Blizzard Entertainment has now teamed up with another iconic IP that will likely make many gamers nostalgic through a stunning, action-packed trailer.
From beloved heroes being transformed into their robotic vehicle counterparts to an instantly recognizable instrumental one just can’t stop themselves from singing along to, the upcoming collaboration seems like it was always meant to be.
The War Between Autobots and Decepticons Comes to Overwatch 2
The moment the new trailer by Blizzard Entertainment begins, the opening musical notes are enough to get Transformers fans hyped, as it is an instrumental version of the theme song that has defined the franchise for years.
With heroes like Illari looking absolutely stunning in their collaborative skins, the art style of the footage stood out as a major highlight, as aside from all of the action, fans agree that the animation looks gorgeous.
The never-ending war between the Autobots and Decepticons is making its way to Overwatch 2’s Future Earth, and players will have the option of choosing whichever side they want to stand with.
Officially calling it More Than Meets The Eye, Blizzard Entertainment will launch the collaboration tomorrow on July 9, and players will be able to transform their favorite heroes into their Transformers counterparts. An example would be the Tank hero Reinhardt taking center stage with his Optimus Prime skin, and fans seem to be completely on board with the team-up.
Bastion Bumblebee Steals the Show in the Overwatch x Transformers Collaboration
The vast majority of responses to the collaboration have been quite positive, but there is one skin that is proving to be the biggest hit among the rest of the content.
For a long time now, Bumblebee has become a fan-favorite Transformers character, and with a solo film that came out during an era where the franchise was struggling, the loveable robot became even more popular. So it is not exactly a surprise that the Bumblebee skin for the Damage hero Bastion is something that fans are really looking forward to trying out.
Considering that Bastion already has mobile abilities, the Bumblebee combination feels like the most natural addition.
Whether Bastion is one’s favorite hero or not, the new collaboration seems to have something for everyone, and the community feels genuinely impressed with what Blizzard Entertainment has shown so far.
While upcoming video games like Marvel Rivals that were supposed to take over Overwatch 2’s spotlight are already facing criticism for their skin reveals, Blizzard’s free-to-play title is holding on to its strengths.
And it is actually surprising to witness most players be excited for the collaboration as a unified community, which is something that does not usually happen with live-service games nowadays.
