Call of Duty is one of the biggest action-adventure game franchises with more than 20 successful installments. If you are from the Modern Warfare series to Warzone, almost every installment is worth giving a try. While graphics, bosses, weapons, multiplayer modes, missions, and enemies are enough to heighten the thrill, these games even feature Easter Eggs to increase players’ excitement. Starting in 2003, Activision never failed to surprise players with the Easter Eggs.

Throughout these years the franchise has featured hundreds of easter eggs in different CoD games. Players enjoyed some of them a lot, while a few they even missed. As a die-hard Call of Duty fan, if one tries to determine the top Easter Eggs that surpass the others in uniqueness, it will be a hard choice. However, after grinding loads of COD games, we have found a few unique Easter Eggs that can be considered the best in COD history.

7. ZAP!!! in COD Ghosts

Though Call of Duty Ghosts’ Extinction mode was not as popular as Call of Duty Zombies, the former has presented players with some incredible surprises. If one had grind through the Ghosts’ Extinction mode, they might have discovered one of the most peculiar Easter Eggs of Call of Duty history. Even if you have missed it or forgot about it, let me remind you about the ZAP!!! Easter Egg.

On the Nightfall map, players might remember finding sparkling electrical boxes. These used to be the key to finding the Easter Egg. Players had to shoot six of them in order to reveal the secret. Doing the process properly, used to display ‘ZAP!!!’ on the screen. After that whenever players kill an alien they would explode and become snow. That’s not all. These aliens used to leave snowman heads for a few seconds.

6. “Friendly fire will not be tolerated” Achievement

Friendly fire is not allowed in the Call of Duty games. Players can’t shoot their teammates. However, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered had a mission that used to reward players with a similar achievement. However, this Easter Egg was hard to miss, at least for those who completed the “One Shot One Kill” mission.

This game has a sequence where players get the opportunity to revisit the Modern Warfare moments through the eyes of Yuri. If you are confused about what’s so unique in it, let me explain, Yuri was never featured in the previous Modern Warfare games. So, his appearance was already enough surprising for players.

However, the “One Shot One Kill” mission features Yuri and Makarov together. At this point firing on Yuri would reward players with the achievement “Friendly fire will not be tolerated.”

5. “You are not worthy”

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was one of the most successful installments in this series. However, this mode had an Easter Egg that many have probably missed. While trying to complete the campaign mission Celerium, players must have jumped off a cliff to access a remote temple.

From the base, if you climbed the top of the cliff, you noticed a cave. Inside it, there was a hammer that you couldn’t pick up or interact. To interact with the hammer, players need to clear the area with a silenced weapon. Once they did the mission, the alarm would go off. Next, if one entered the cave again, he would have noticed the hammer had sparks around it and could be interacted with. Interacting with the hammer would give the alert, “You are not worthy.” The hammer disappeared. However, if you had Titus 6, players would have received unlimited ammo for it.

4. Giant Teddy Bear

After some old Call of Duty game Easter Eggs, let’s come to something comparatively new. The Modern Warfare 2019 has one of the most iconic Easter Eggs on its multiplayer map. While grinding, players must have reached the Train Station and noticed the yellow building nearby. This building had several white plates attached to its walls that players should have destroyed. This process required tons of ammo but the outcome was satisfactory and surprising. Among them four had numbers and one had a keypad. Typing the four numbers on the keypad brought a gigantic evil teddy bear on the map.

3. Trench Teddy Bear

Talking about Modern Warfare 2019 Teddy Bear Easter Eggs, how can one miss the one inside the bunker? However, this one was hard to miss. Once players jumped into the trench map, they might have discovered all five numbers from random locations and objects. If they gathered those numbers and put them on the keypad, the door of the bunker would open.

Entering the location might surprise them as the situation looked like the teddy bears had been planning for something. One teddy bear had a telephone next to him on the table and it had a number. Once again put the number on that same keypad and the phone would start ringing.

If players interact with it, it would open the door behind them and reveal another teddy with cannons on hand. It would fire randomly for a few seconds and then it would burn itself.

2. Nuketown Mannequin

Another most attractive Call of Duty Easter Egg was introduced in Black Ops 2. Nuketown is one of the most iconic Call of Duty maps that showed players one of the most unique Easter Eggs. Nuketown 2025 had an Easter Egg that required players to shoot all the Mannequin heads. Once you do it, visit the monitor at the center of the map to check whether it has the Activision logo on it. Next, interact with the screen and players will see Pitfall, River Raid, Kaboom, and H.E.R.O. in their full 8-bit glory.

1. Ray Gun in World At War

Call of Duty, easter eggs

The first and the most unique Call of Duty Easter Egg is probably the Ray Gun Easter Egg in World At War. Once you jump into the game and start the campaign mission Little Resistance, you will see three puddles on the beach. Stepping on each and standing for around six seconds on each of them reveals four statues each with a gun. These statues come out from the sand and each of them has a Ray Gun that you can use. That’s probably the best Easter Egg in Call of Duty history.
