“6 months in, still lacking in…”: Helldivers 2’s Complete Lack of 1 Feature Is Angering the Few Players Who Remain
As the wait for new enemy factions and mission types continues, could Arrowhead look to a few crucial changes to sustain Helldivers 2?
It’s indeed a difficult time for Arrowhead Game Studios. With Helldivers 2 currently facing a lot of heat for a lack of new content that is making players get bored with the game, pressure is mounting on the studio to bring its best-selling game back on track.
Despite the game having a dedicated community of players who have placed a lot of faith in the studio and continue to do so despite Helldivers 2’s novelty wearing off, it’s apparent that the game is in desperate need of an update to keep its players happy.
Helldivers 2 Desperately Needs Some Changes
While its premise and addictive gameplay loop have managed to carry Helldivers 2 for this long, along with its community finding new strategies to employ on missions, Arrowhead will need to consider an effective roadmap of updates for the game in order to keep it at the top of player lists.
At this point in the game’s lifespan, its dedicated community of players could be a blessing or a curse, depending on how the studio chooses to act on the feedback that it provides on platforms like Reddit and X. It seems that a few basic features are on its wishlist aside from the need to add new enemy and mission types to the game’s existing roster.
How Could Arrowhead Manage to Win Back Its Player Base?
In a Reddit post about a change that would be most welcome for Helldivers 2, a player outlines the need for displaying basic information about planets that could allow squads to coordinate their missions more effectively as opposed to having to download a separate app to do so.
The post below also criticizes the weekly rotation of weapons that Arrowhead is currently employing to sustain player engagement, pointing out that a constant cycle of new weapons that eventually get nerfed is taking the game nowhere.
Other players were quick to chime in with opinions on the post along with other areas in which Arrowhead could make changes to enhance the Helldivers 2 experience.
It’s clear that Arrowhead’s player base is not too happy with the studio at this time considering the stagnancy that Helldivers 2 is currently facing. It has prompted a few players to begin losing faith that their opinions are even being considered by the company.
While there is still time for Arrowhead to pull up its socks and ensure that it does not lose the trust that it has worked so hard to earn from its players, time is certainly running out for the studio, as its players continue to lament a lack of direction for one of its best-selling titles.
However, it is not too late for the studio to make changes that could see its player base gleefully dive back into Super Earth’s fight for Democracy.
