After tons of criticism, Stellar Blade is finally on the verge of going live. This PS5 exclusive game has gone through multiple controversies for its characterization of the female lead, which has increased the curiosity of gamers about experiencing it for themselves. Like every other RPG, this game is going to introduce players to a huge world full of powerful bosses and enemies. Therefore, your skills are your only way to survive.

Veteran hack-and-slash players are well aware that combat strategies play a key role in these games, and if you’ve tried the Stellar Blade demo, you probably agree that this game maintains the tradition. Therefore, there are a few basic tips players should know about the combat system to become a Naytibas slaying beast in the game.

Basic Combat Tips to Become a Pro Naytibas Slayer in Stellar Blade

Set on a post-apocalyptic earth, the game mainly focuses on slaying monstrous creatures called Naytibas. These fights are not easy, as players need to understand the attack patterns of the enemies and counter them within a short span. If Eve takes more time than usual, receiving vital damage is inevitable. So, understanding some primary strategies will help her survive the fights.

5. Master the Parrying Ability

Counterattacks are necessary, but the priority is to survive. If you try attacking enemies without caring about your defense, elimination is not far away. So, the first and most important thing to do during combat is to parry attacks. Parrying incoming attacks will keep Eve safe from the deadly blows of the enemy.

To parry an enemy attack, players need to hit the L1 button on their controller right before the attack is going to hit them. Timing is crucial. Even the slightest delay will cause the greatest loss. Interestingly, parry doesn’t only block an attack but also opens up an opportunity to hit the enemy back.

So, if you are trying to be a deadly Naytibas slayer, learn to use parry properly. This will make the survival process during combat easier.

4. Go for Close-Range Battles

In hack-and-slash games, combat generally has a great speed, so staying too close to the enemy is dangerous. Though Stellar Blade initially gives you the same impression, soon you will realize the scenario is different. Combat in this game starts slow, but gradually it gains speed. This opens up a great chance for Eve to go for close-range battles, at least in the beginning.

Close-range battles give players a good opportunity to learn the moves of the opponent, which is one of the vital techniques to win a fight. First, Eve must learn the attack strategies of the enemies and then counter them. Therefore, closing the distance makes the learning process smoother and less time-consuming.

Whenever you feel the need, press L3 or hold the circle button on the controller to sprint and create distance from the opponent. The former button will let Eve sprint immediately, and the latter will let her dodge the incoming attack first and then sprint.

3. Learn Combo Attacks

Stellar Blade will allow players to learn different types of combos, as they are the most effective attacks in fights. However, naturally, getting a long list of combos will probably overwhelm them about which should be given priority. Well, we recommend starting with the Incursion Combos, which will begin with the square button. The game has four Incursion Combos to learn, and they are pretty easy to master.

The next type of combo that players should not miss is the Onslaught Combo. These combos can be initiated by pressing the triangle button. Again, the game has four Onslaught Combos to learn.

2. Master Blink Ability

After you have learned the parry ability to strengthen your defense, it is time to focus on your offense. Eve has multiple offense strategies that can deal massive damage to enemies if they are used properly during combat. Blink is one of them, and from the beginning of the game, players need to focus on mastering this skill.

Blink starts with a blue circle on an enemy. Once you activate the move, you will see a blue circle on the enemy, which is immediately followed by a blue glow on Eve’s sword. Press the left thumbstick and the circle button simultaneously to land the hit properly. Again, timing is key to executing the attack. The smallest delay in pressing the buttons will ruin the entire attack.

1. Don’t Waste Skill Points; Use Them Strategically

Using Skill Points properly makes things a lot different for the players. Skill Points are important to unlock and update Eve’s different skills. But not every skill is equally effective to be updated using Skill Points. So, ensure you are using them to update the right skills. We recommend focusing on updating Parry attacks and Blink attacks of your character. Both these attacks make your character stronger during combat and help you become a Naytibas slayer.

These are the basic yet most effective ways to start the Stellar Blade journey. When combat is the central theme of the game, learning combat tips before diving into the gameplay will definitely help players become strong Naytibas slaying beasts.
