5 Legacy Characters We’d Like to Show up in Star Wars Outlaws
A story that never gets old, Star Wars Outlaws can bring a fresh new face in contact with some legendary names from the original trilogy to great effect.
With only a month left before Star Wars fans can explore the galaxy in the shoes of Kay Vess and her companion Nix in Star Wars Outlaws, the excitement for Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft’s upcoming RPG is palpable indeed. Exploring the far reaches of the galaxy in George Lucas’ intricate universe is certainly appealing – as proven by Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and its sequel.
While the new game’s focus on an original character could give it a refreshing narrative to explore, fans of Star Wars cannot wait to explore how the game’s narrative could make references to the original films and other stories that have arisen from them over the years.
5 Legacy Characters That Should Be in Star Wars Outlaws
Set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Star Wars Outlaws has a lot of potential to explore canonical events in the original films through a fresh pair of eyes in the form of its new character. The game’s open-world format could see players exploring several key locations from the original story – and potentially give them some perspective on events between the two iconic films.
With several crime syndicates gunning for Kay Vess in her quest to gain her freedom from them by any means necessary, there is a lot of potential for her to meet some familiar faces from the main films and their many spin-offs.
Among all of the possible characters that Kay could bump into from the Star Wars universe, there are some whose presence in the game would make more sense than others. Here are a few legacy characters we would hope make it to Star Wars Outlaws.
5. Boba Fett
With his ties to Star Wars’ many criminal organizations coupled with his tenacity and skills as a mercenary, Boba Fett would be a great choice for Star Wars Outlaws considering his role in the prequels and the events that occur in his spin-off series.
The mercenary with a heart of gold could be a great asset to Kay’s journey, helping her navigate the complexities of criminal organizations as she sets out on her journey and potentially teaming up with her if the situation works out to their mutual advantage. This complex character would work very well in a narrative based on organized crime in the Star Wars universe.
4. Ahsoka Tano
Another great character who would make a good fit with this story, Ahsoka’s crusade against the Empire could very well see her cross paths with Kay and potentially help her on one of her missions.

It’s an interaction that would work well, considering Kay’s journey towards becoming a well-known but respected scoundrel which could potentially contrast Ahsoka’s more grounded moral compass tinged with the willingness to bend the rules on certain occasions.
3. Yoda
Considering the time period that the game is set in, Kay could find herself seeking refuge on Dagobah and cross paths with the legendary Jedi master and perhaps run into his finest Padawan Luke Skywalker too. The aging master could serve as a mentor to Kay, helping her discover herself and what she is willing to do in order to survive her journey and come out better for it.
It could also set up potential missions with the rebels that see Kay work alongside them in order to achieve her own goals and gain favor with a crime syndicate or two.
2. Darth Vader
While Darth Vader might be too powerful an enemy for Kay to take on, considering his immense power and command over the Dark Side of the Force, he could make his imposing presence felt in a mission or two in which she is forced to infiltrate Empire strongholds in order to achieve her goals.
Considering Vader’s appearance in The Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor, a mission in which he makes an appearance would be nerve-wracking and intense. We certainly hope that he finds his way into the game in some form or the other.
1. Han Solo and Chewbacca
As far as scoundrels go, it doesn’t get any better than everyone’s favorite rogue Han Solo and his trusty sidekick Chewbacca. They play a major role in the timeline that Star Wars Outlaws is set in and the duo could very well be a perfect addition to Kay’s list of allies, considering their underworld connections and propensity to run afoul of every crime syndicate they come across.
Solo and Chewy could be a great addition to Outlaws’ cast of characters and fit perfectly with several of its plot points, bringing Kay into contact with the Rebel Alliance and setting up a whole bunch of missions in which they interact with the newbie and teach her how they became the best at what they do. Perhaps a race between the Millennium Falcon and Trailblazer could serve as the icing on the cake.
While it’s not set in stone that these characters will be making an appearance, it would certainly help Star Wars Outlaws show off its narrative chops while staying faithful to its source material. The game’s choice of time period would certainly be vindicated if Kay were to run into fan favorites and perhaps even some obscure characters along the way.
We won’t have to wait too long to find out as Star Wars Outlaws is literally just one month away. It’s time to dust off those blasters and get ready for an adventure through a galaxy far, far away!
