April begins with a lot of surprises and pranks for the gaming community across the world. Just a day back we witnessed how the gaming world participated in April Fools’ Day and pranked players with various astonishing announcements that apparently seem to be very convincing. Every year, game developers join the trend and make announcements that fool fans. Similarly, this year players have received a few surprising announcements and limited events on April Fools’ Day. However, a few of them are true, but most of them are just jokes. In this article, we are listing the top five gaming April Fools, but make sure you take them as jokes and nothing serious.

5. Pokemon Sleep E-Tournament

Pokemon is one of the most popular gaming franchises on Nintendo Switch with each of the games receiving immense popularity among players. However, the Pokemon franchise is also renowned for E-Sports events where Pokemon battles, and trainers can trade cards online. However, this year, the Pokemon developers have invented a unique way to celebrate April 1, by fooling their fans.

Pokemon developers are well aware of their community. So are sure of the popularity of their E-Sports events. Taking this part into consideration, they announced a sleep competition where four players can compete and among them whoever goes into deep slumber first, will win the trophy. They even released a YouTube showing this competition.

You’re not taking it for real right? Well, that was a joke. There won’t be anything like a Sleep competition in Pokemon

4. Among Us Received a New April Fool Update

When developers are all participating in the trend of fooling their fans, we can’t expect Innersloth to keep quiet. Innersloth every year participates in this trend and introduces new updates to the game. After their Horse mode update in the game, the developers again found something unique this time to surprise players.

On April 1, they launched a teaser video where they showed the latest Among Us event. This video clearly shows that during this event the Imposter will have a long neck which they can use to kill crewmates from a distance. However, this is a limited-time event where players can enjoy this new feature for one week only.

This is not a joke though. This event is a real one. So, don’t waste time and check out the new feature.

3. Dead By Daylight Introduced My Little Oni Update

This is another real update that initially players thought to be a joke. Indeed it was released as part of celebrating the April Fools’ Day, but it is not a joke. Dead By Daylight is one of the most frightening and complicated games where survival requires silence and teamwork. Until now, the game didn’t feature any enemy that could step on the players, but the latest update granted the long-demanded wish of the players.

The teaser that was released shows that the developers have made Oni a gigantic character while reducing the size of the players. Along with that, The Oni can now have the ability to step on players. The Oni has always been a loved character and players had expressed several times that they would love to be stepped on by him, finally, the developers listened to and granted this wish for a few days. That’s not a joke, so don’t waste time and experience this new event before it ends.

2. Elden Ring Joked About An Expansion

Since its release Elden Ring has acquired a permanent place in players’ hearts. Therefore, players often get curious about new Elden Ring updates and after the announcement of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, this thing only increases. However, FromSoftware understands the community’s willingness and, taking advantage of this, prepared an impressive way to prank them.

The way was rather simple but highly effective. From the official Bandai Namco Twitter handle, a video clip was released with the caption, “Elden Ring Expansion.” Soon players assumed that it definitely had some new update about the upcoming DLC, but the moment they clicked on it, they realized how they were pranked. The clip shows the Elden Ring Expansion getting expanded and going out of the screen.

1. Palworld Dating Sim

Palworld is undoubtedly the most successful game of 2024. The moment it was released, it had taken the gaming community by storm. So, how can the developers of the game prevent themselves from participating in the April Fools’ tradition? However, they have thought of a way that again brought the game to the top of the discussion.

While playing the game, have you ever thought of the scenario where you are dating a Pal? Mostly no right? The latest clip from the official Palworld handle shared some moments where we found a pal school and the Pals as students. In this clip, the developers have revealed that players can fall in love with the mysterious Katress, stylish Lovander, or the evil Black Marketeer.

However, the most surprising part is that, according to the developers, if the game were real, a future 18+ version would eventually be released. Relax, the entire thing was a joke. Your pals are not going to date you for now.

These are some of the most unique jokes that the gamers have witnessed during April 1, 2024. There are several other memorable jokes that developers have played on players, but still, these five stand out from others.
